Where duplex 1.4462 stops, super duplex 1.4410 starts. With PRE above 40 and yield strength approaching 550 MPa, NIBRO super duplex clamps handle the chloride and sour-service envelope of offshore platforms, subsea umbilicals and hot brine processing.
Super duplex envelope
• Composition: 25Cr-7Ni-4Mo-N (UNS S32750 / EN 1.4410).
• PRE ≥ 40 — accepted across European and US offshore specs.
• Hot chloride brine to 90 °C continuous.
• Sour service per NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 — H₂S partial pressures up to 1 bar with controlled heat treatment.
Production controls
Super duplex requires strict heat input control during forming. NIBRO's CNC press cells operate at constant strain rate to avoid intermetallic precipitation (sigma, chi phases). Every batch is verified by ferrite-balance test (target 40-55%) and pitting test per ASTM G48 Method A.
